Egyptian Late Period, c. 600 BC
A vibrant necklace restrung from genuine ancient Egyptian mummy beads, dating to Egypt's Late Period, approximately 600 BC. The necklace is composed of green, brown and blue circular and tubular faience beads whose original colours are remarkably well preserved. Such beads were originally placed within the wrappings of mummies as part of the elaborate funerary practices of ancient Egypt, intended to protect and adorn the deceased in the afterlife.
