Egyptian Late Period, 664–332 BC
A Late Period wooden mummy mask with finely rendered details and polychrome decoration in pink tones. The mask displays the idealised features characteristic of Egyptian funerary art — serene expression, wide eyes and a formal wig. Minor restoration near the lips and parts of the nose. Presented on a custom display stand. This mask served as the outermost covering of the mummified face, intended to provide the deceased with an eternal, idealised visage for the afterlife.
